What I do

What’s my job?

?I listen to you think. I allow you to dwell on your thoughts. I empower you to think and say your thoughts. You will know you are safe with your thoughts as I will not interrupt you, or compete with you.

So what do, I do?

?I listen to you.

?I listen to you like you’ve never been listened to before.

?I allow you to think for yourself without trying to influence or compete with you.

?Since the age of 7yrs old we have had noise around us.

How many times have you been able to just think and not be interrupted, distracted, judged or argued with?

?I read a fascinating book recently called ‘Stand out of our Light’ by James Williams he explores our attention and how the world believes we are so much better off by being information abundant, but we are no longer able to control our own attention.

We believe our technology is helping us. Is it? Or is it a continued stream of noise, web articles making us go off in another direction to the one intended, lose track of time and popup ads interrupting our train of thought.

?Are we really in control of our technology or is it controlling us (and then by the very few who own these technological and advertisement companies)?

I used to wear a smart watch but then I found my attention was being influenced and directed by the technology on my wrist. Every time I got a notification I started to think about it instead of what I was doing at the time. I got to the point where I turned off all my notifications so much so I was using it mainly as a watch and step count (which then used to annoy me as I felt I was competing with it).

I have now removed it and feel so much better for it. I focus far more (I’m still easily distracted but at least I can choose that distraction slightly better than when I had the watch on.)

?I certainly find it is It is very rare we have time to listen to our own thoughts without feeling guilty about taking time out to just think.

You have to set boundaries and time to do this nowadays. This can be difficult.

?Anyone can think and when you think out loud with someone else listening with their undivided attention and with no interruption. It’s similar to an astronaut looking down from outer space and seeing the world for the first time in its whole, being able to zoom into areas they knew were there but had never seen before.

?The power of someone being with you, listening to you is such an amazing experience. I have regular thinking partners and I get so much out of it and in return so they do.

You can do this too.

If you would like to know more then get in touch. I’m always happy to listen and empower people to think for themselves.
